ISEC Lisboa University – INSTITUTO SUPERIOR DE EDUCAÇÃO E CIÊNCIAS and the Portuguese start-up CLAIRE signed a collaboration agreement on 7 February 2024.
As part of the Contactology II curricular unit of the degree course in Optics and Optometry, the aim is to reinforce ISEC Lisboa students’ advanced knowledge in the clinical practice of speciality contact lenses using digital tools, especially in fitting lenses for irregular corneas, astigmatism and with complex optics and geometries.
ISEC Lisboa is a private, non-profit higher education and research establishment whose institutional mission is to provide scientific, technical, cultural, pedagogical, professional, and human training. Amongst other courses, ISEC Lisboa runs a Degree course in Optics and Optometry with the specific aims of training professionals in the field of Optics and Optometry with the ability to carry out clinical work in the area of primary eye care, and also to train professionals with a high level of knowledge in ocular and ophthalmic optics who can support professionals in the field of eye care with a lack of training in the area of optics.
CLAIRE (Contact Lens Artificial Intelligence Research and Engineering) is an Artificial Intelligence based APPs platform that provides Eye Care Professionals (ECP’s) with virtual technical support, calculations, and ordering tools for specialty contact lenses management.
